Acne questions for a 23 year old female?
I'm 23 and I still get pimples. I cant use Roaccutane because my family has a history of high triglycerides, no hormones either because I have varicose veins and carry a high risk for cancer.
Over the last few years (14 to be precise), I've tried hundreds of medications said to "control" acne. Azaleic acid, erythromycin, glycolic acid, adapalene, benzoyl peroxide, hydroquinone, tretinoin, glutathione, vitamin C, E, chemical and diamond peels, oral antibiotics (all the tetracyclines and penicillins you can think of- combined or individualized), sulfur soaps, clindamycin, salicylic acids, SkinB5… nothing works… I've only switched dermatologists thrice and gave each and everyone of their so-called treatments time to work (years is more than enough).
During the last 3 years, my acne has flared into something else. I get cysts and nodules instead of the usual inflamed acne. I've never had it this bad before.
My make-up is all hypoallergenic/non comedogenic and I dont use it unless I have a special occasion.
I'm a healthy person. Im not overweight and I dont have eating problems with fried or fatty foods (maybe the occasional chocolate)
If you guys have any idea what's up, please help me out.
For dermatologists out there, you don't need to use layman's terms. I am a nurse. I've gotten to the point where I'm at my wit's end. Do you think because of all the meds I've taken all these years, my acne has developed resistance?

It sounds as if your doctors are trying their hardest. However, I have to differ with you (or them) with respect to your inability to take Accutane, b/c of the family history of elevated triglycerides. To begin with, you sound like an ideal candidate for that drug, as you have failed every other standard form of therapy and you have cystic acne. While on Accutane, it's standard to do monthly checks on your triclyceride levels, and if they are found to be elevated, to lower your Accutane dosage and to begin on Lopid, if needs be. Remember, it's not the actual dosage of Accutane that's important; rather it's the total dosage that you take in over the course of the treatment. Thus, you could still take the Accutane at a lower dose and reap the benefits without the side effects (although it'll take you twice or thrice as long to complete the regimen). Talk to your dermatologist about the possiblilty.

My sister and cousin who both have major acne have tried the product and they both give it thumbs up. I have also heard many great feedbacks about this cream.
I don't have a problem with acne, but it seems to have great results on my sister who has moderate to severe acne. Her acne swelling went away overnight.
