I need to lessen/reduce my acne…i'm desperate?

I've had acne for the past 2 or 3 years now. During the summer, it wasn't too bad. Then, it got a bit worse throughout the fall, but still not what u can call mild. A few here and there. So, there was this tutorial i found on the web, which dealt with dieting. So, i started it in early december. Over two weeks, my acne significantly improved. I was eating healthy (before it used to be a box of cookies every 2 days). I didn't break out at all. Then, the bad stuff came. I broke out, and ever since those two weeks, my acnes gotten significantly worse, possibly worse than it was before i started my diet. I'm currently doing acupuncture to help it, and still doing some of the diet, and also taking some supplements (like herbs, as well as vitamins A & E). But, no change. I'm really desperate, this acne is severly limiting my social life, and i'm finding myself depressed all the time. Does anyone have anything to help? I would prefer all natural treatments, but anything will do.
Thnx.
P.S – I'm 17 years old tomorrow, and a guy.

There are products that can help..do not dispaire! Go to acne.com you'll get a lot of help. I personally have seen pro active work well. I also saw steptriptren (I think that's you spell it) discussed on 60 minutes..it looked like a good product. Good luck…you won't be 17 forever…it will just seem like it! ♥
also my nephew just said..try
top acne solutions .com
They review the top products.

first, happy Birthday,

my son had a problem from 16-19.
We tried "proactiv" {?sp}, it did help some. In the end we ended up at a dermatologist. The combination of proactiv and antibiotics helped a lot. it did not completely cure the acne but kept it bearable.

The only thing I can tell ya is to eat healthy.
Try to not eat fried or fast food.
Red meat is also quite bad for you, but I am not sure if it affects acne.

Drink a lot of water, and if you can, only eat organic fruit and try not to eat as much processed/boxed food.

Also, wash your face with a cleanser every day.
Good luck. (:

Well, its good that you are taking action, & trying to help this situation. Try going to a local dermitologist. They will find your skin type, & perscribe a product that can help your face. Sometimes, they say to buy ___ brand for your skin. Its a 90% chance that they are right. I hope you can reduce this skin problem..

gotta disagree with you hotaru, red meat is extremely good for you, it's almost essential to a healthy diet, too much is bad for you tho

And to answer your question, instead of trying diets and acupuncture and all that crap, get some medicine, the clearpores line of acne treatment is good, so is clearasil

Try acnezine, it's a pill, use it in combination with clear pores medication on the affected area, should clear you up.

I'll get back to you, i've got a dermatology appointment tommorow, so i'll tell you if it works.

i am younger than you and i had horrible acne at one piont on my back and face it was really gross. i went to the dermitologist and they perscribed this stuff called ziana [for black heads] and prascion [which is a facial cleansing clothe used for zits] the worked really well i've been using them 4 the past 2 years and i am pimple free! either that or proactive (i havent really tried it but my friends have and it semmed to work really well for them)

Good Luck!

PS: food and chocolate has nothing to do with acne unless your rubbing you face with chocolate lol

ur a 17 yr old dude well there u go it could be ur homones. or it could be because ur stressed. i get acne when the seasons change too. keep ur hands off ur face and try keep it clean . what i do is wash in the morning usually by the afternoon my nose and forehead is oily so i wash it again then before i go to bed keep ur pillows clean and don't crash out with gel in ur hair cause it rubs off on ur pillow and onto ur face. try not to stress it'll go away, not completely but it won't be so bad. good luck buddy

None of the creams worked for me, I just outgrew it, Im 20 now
everything started clearing up at age 19

The only thing I can tell you I did, was I limited on spicy foods, pizza, oil, nuts,
it helped a bit, but dunno

I wish i could help you somehow

For one, cleaning the skin with lemon is an effective acne skin treatment. The citric acid in lemon has properties that can kill harmful bacteria present in acne. A paste of orange peels also cleanses the skin and fights harmful bacteria.Log on to http://tipsfromruby-acne.blogspot.com/ for a few home made tips to heal acne
