What are the best acne treatments available? 22 yr old male?
I've had to deal with acne since I was in my younger teens. It got bad then went away for a while and once I got out of my teens I thought I was done dealing with it. I am now 22 years old and still have acne and it is breaking out bad. I went to the doctors and received prescriptions for doxycycline hyclate and tretinoin cream. These prescriptions did start to work after a few days and I did notice results. However after about a month and a half of taking it now my acne is coming back worse than before. I have also been using clearasil vanishing cream to help cover up the acne(since I'm a guy and can't use make up) and that seems to be drying out my face burning and making my acne worse. I normally have oily skin and thought I would try it. I have tried proactive, neutrogena products and a lot of other over the counter products in the past. I've also tried natural products like egg whites, honey which helped the oiliness but not the acne. I do not know what is causing it. I drink plenty of water and eat healthy. I also take 1-2 flax seed oil capsules per day. I am trying to get this to go away asap or at least calm down some until I get to a dermatologist who knows what their doing since my last doctor didn't. Does anyone know of any products that I can get to show results immediately and/or any good vitamins I could take a long with my prescription.

This may sound crazy… but it worked for me. I am 26 and I also have problems with break outs. I use a face wash called acne free. It has the same ingredients as proactive, but it is less than 1/3 the price and you can get it at stores like walmart. After I wash my face I use oil of olay night time regenerest face lotion (it comes in a little purple jar). It seems a little greasy at first, and you would think that adding more moisture would make the break outs worse… but it actually cleared up my face! I also have oily skin, but this seemed to soak up some of the oil after a few minutes. In the morning my face is a little oily, but my face is a lot more clear looking. It takes a few days for it to work, but I haven't found any thing that works better.
Lastly fins a good oil free sun screen. I found that the sun irritates my acne some times.
