WHICH ACNE TREATMENT ACTUALLY WORKS??

I'm a tenager (16) and have acne. It's never been as bad as it is now, I have some painful spots and just basically bumps on my cheeks and forehead. My skin is pretty dry, not too oily. My acne isnt THAT bad but enough to make me insecure blablabla…
I've tried Vitamin B5 pills (CleasSkin) which is a pain because you have to take like 6 horse pills 3 times daily, Benzoyl Peroxide in many forms which always just seems to dry out my skin, Murad kits, and recently the TandaZap which does nothing for me. I'm also on some homeopathic stuff you spray in your mouth 6 times a day…
Does anyone know of something that WORKS?
Proactive?
SkinID?
PLEASE HELP ME PPL
Yes it's hormones, but there must be something that works, right?
I drink a TON of water, eat very healthy, exercise a LOT, and clean my face all the time.
I'm about ready to go on some heavy antibiotic, but Id rather not.
Oh Ive also tried Birth Control, which worked but it made me crazy.. haha
Thanks!

I'm not sure if you are familiar with the drug acutane. This is a very powerful acne medication that works amazingly well. You take 2 pills a day for about 6 months and it matures your glands so you will never have acne again. The only problem is there are some pretty bad possible side effects. I never experienced any side effects but they are listed. The only other problem is if you are a girl you are forced to be on birth control while taking it because it is proven to cause birth defects. But if you really wanted to go through with the acutane you would have to speak to your local dermatologist for it isn't an OTC drug. My dermatologist endorsed it completely and i do as well, message me if you have any questions or want to know more about it.

The closest thing to a cure for acne is Accutane. It's a pill that you take, but you just take it once a day. Normally you take it for 5-6 months. I've been taking it for 2 months, and it's already completely gone, and I had pretty bad acne. Only setbacks are the amount of side effects, especially if you're a girl. Also the amount of time you have to take it. Hope this helped

The thing with acne is often a treatment that works for one person won't work for another. The best example I can think of is isotretinoin or accutane, where roughly 10% of people who use it either need to use a 2nd course of it or the first simply doesn't work.

Of course your acne doesn't sound too bad so I would not be recommending accutane but I do suggest you make an appointment to see a dermatologist. They will be able to give you the best advice. Basically, the doctor will either refer you to a non-prescription product such as Proactive or a lesser known brand, or may prescribe you with a form of antibiotic suitable for your acne. Antibiotics are usually the most effective way of dealing with acne but if you can find a cream that works for you that would be just as good if not better.

If you are against seeing a doctor, the best you can do is just try different products. Proactive is a good place to start seeing as they offer a 30 day trial I believe. Also, there will be products both at your local supermarket and stronger chemical products at the chemist, it's worth looking in to each.

Also I should add there are varying strengths of anti-biotics, and if your acne is not too bad it's likely you won't be prescribed a strong dosage of anything, but seeing a doctor is still your best bet. They have access to and knowledge of products you usually wouldn't otherwise find that can be far more effective than what you can find in the store or online yourself.

Clean&Clear is my favorite to use at a affordable price. Not only does it take out your acne but makes your skin soft. But on the label it said stop usage if irritation occurs or skin peeling. That hasnt happen to me ever with Clean&Clear but it could to you. I heard at SkinID you can make your own acne treatment, but its probably petty expensive.

try not stressing about everything. the more you stress, the more you break out. whenever you have a breakout, try putting tooth paste (NOT gel, make sure it is paste) and a bandaid over it and sleeping with that on. works every time for me.
